I don't really understand why they call connecting flights "connecting" since they, more often than not, don't actually connect. As in our case. As much as I love Atlanta I don't really want to be here another two hours..!!! Our plane in Charlotte was late getting in, and even later leaving on the way here, so obviously we missed the flight to.... (not yet). So... our original departure time out of Atlanta has gone from 8:05pm to 10:40pm. Good news is that we gain an hour on the way west (theres a hint) so we should get at least 3 hours of sleep tonight.
This is why I have a rule against flying on [non-]connecting flights...
